Lord, I Would Dwell With Thee
C. H. Spurgeon (1866) • English
Primary Scripture: Psalm 15
Verse 1
Lord, I would dwell in peace On your most holy hill; Oh, shed your grace abroad in me To mold me to your will.
Verse 2
Your gate of pearl stands wide For those who walk upright, But those who basely turn aside You banish from your sight.
Verse 3
Oh, tame my tongue to peace And tune my heart to love; From all reproaches may I cease, Made harmless as a dove.
Verse 4
The vile, though proudly great, No flatt’rer find in me; I count your saints of poor estate Far nobler company.
Verse 5
Faithful, but meekly kind, Gentle, yet boldly true, I would possess the perfect mind, Which in my Lord I view.
Verse 6
But Lord, these graces all Your Spirit’s work must be; To you, through Jesu’s blood I call; Create them all in me.
