Primary Scripture: Psalm 62

Verse 1

My soul with expectation doth depend on God indeed: my strength and my salvation do from him alone proceed.

Verse 2

He only my salvation is, and my strong rock is he: he only is my sure defence; much moved I shall not be.

Verse 3

How long rush ye upon a man, and him to slay seek all? To crush hime like a tottering fence, and as a bowing wall?

Verse 4

Only to cast him down they plot, i in lies they take delight; and while they with the mouth do bless, they curse with inward spite.

Verse 5

Only on God do thou, my soul still patiently attend; my expectation and my hope on him alone depend.

Verse 6

He only my salvation is, and my strong rock is he; he only is my sure defence: I shall not moved be.

Verse 7

In God my glory placed is, and my salvation sure; in God the rock is of my strength, my refuge most secure.

Verse 8

Ye people, place your confidence in him continually; before him pour ye out your heart, God is our refuge high.

Verse 9

Surely mean men are vanity, and great men are a lie, in balance laid, they wholly are more light than vanity.

Verse 10

Do ye not in oppression trust, in robbery be not vain; set not your hearts when increased is your gain.

Verse 11

God hath it spoken once to me, yea, this I heard again, that power to Almighty God alone doth appertain.

Verse 12

Yea, mercy also unto thee belongs, O Lord, alone: for thou according to his work rewardest every one.
