No wishful glances now I cast Tow’rd Canaan’s happy shore, For I have reached that land of rest, To wander never more.

Old Jordan’s waves now roll behind, The sky is clear above, And all along the way I find The joys of “perfect love.”

On ev’ry side sweet lilies nod, Inviting me to stay; The birds, the rills, all sing of God; O brother, come this way!

In Beulah’s vale rich fruits abound; And milk and honey flow; Within the soil rare gems are found, And costly spices grow.

When giants high above me tow’r, And boast of mighty strength, Faith grasps her “two-edged sword” of pow’r, And lays them out their length.

Here Jesus comes and whispers low His sweetest words of love, And bids me pray, and work, and grow, Till called to joys above.
