We have come into the presence Of our Saviour and our Lord; May we all receive with meekness, Brethren, the engrafted Word.

O the word, the holy word! Given our souls to sanctify, Let our hearts receive it, Lord, Meekly, gladly, joyfully.

Neither pride or malice bringing, Naughtiness all laid aside, Come we, God's high praises singing, Trusting Jesus crucified.

Yes, the word, 'tis true and holy Meat which nourisheth the soul, Sweeter than the honey truly, Medicine that makes us whole.

Meekly let us now receive it, Thankful that 'tis to us sent, Meekly let our hearts believe it, And of ev'ry wrong repent.

Let it sanctify us wholly, Let it light us on the way, Hoping in its power solely For our keeping day by day.
