O Thou who by a star didst guide

Verse 1

O God, who by a star did guide The Wise Men on their way, Until it came and stood beside The place where Jesus lay.

Verse 2

Although by stars you do not lead Your servants now below, Your Holy Spirit, when they need, Will show them how to go.

Verse 3

As yet we know you but in part, But still we trust your word That blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see the Lord.

Verse 4

O Savior, give us then your grace For pure in heart we'd be, That we may see you, face to face, Through all eternity.

Verse 5

Amen.
