O, What Tender Mercy

William H. Gardiner • English

Primary Scripture: Ephesians 2:4

Verse 1

When I see the way my Savior leads me, Caring for me day by day, Then I sadly bow my head and wonder How I could have gone astray.

Chorus

Oh, what tender, tender mercy! Oh, what kind and loving care, Shown us by the dear and loving Shepherd, From his dwelling place so fair.

Verse 2

When I see the way my Savior leads me, Bearing patiently with me, Then I know how weak and undeserving Without him I’d counted be.

Chorus

Oh, what tender, tender mercy! Oh, what kind and loving care, Shown us by the dear and loving Shepherd, From his dwelling place so fair.

Verse 3

When I see the way my Savior leads me, How he crowned and blessed my days, In my grateful heart is deep thanksgiving, To my lips spring songs of praise.

Chorus

Oh, what tender, tender mercy! Oh, what kind and loving care, Shown us by the dear and loving Shepherd, From his dwelling place so fair.
