Prayer and Hope of Victory

Verse 1

Now may the God of power and grace attend the people’s humble cry! Lord, you will hear your children pray, and bring deliverance from on high.

Verse 2

You well remember all our sighs; such love exceeds our deepest hurts; your love accepts the sacrifice of humble sighs and broken hearts.

Verse 3

Some trust in horses trained for war, and some of chariots make their boasts; our surest expectations are from you, the Lord of heavenly hosts.

Verse 4

You save us, Lord, from helpless fear; now let our hope be firm and strong, for your salvation will appear, and joy and triumph fill our song!
