Shout Aloud the Heavenly Chorus

D. E. Lorenz • English

Primary Scripture: Luke 2:14

Verse 1

Let the angel hosts on high and the sons of men In a happy song of praise combine; God’s salvation now appears, It shall crown the coming years With the comfort of a hope all divine.

Chorus

Then glory in the highest let us sing! Should aloud the heav’nly chorus; Glory be to God on high, Let the earth to heav’n reply, As the Savior comes with light and with love.

Verse 2

O how glorious is the news! it can ne’er grow old; Let us tell it o’er and o’er again; Let us trumpet notes employ, Wake the earth to peace and joy, Christ the Lord has come to dwell among men.

Chorus

Then glory in the highest let us sing! Should aloud the heav’nly chorus; Glory be to God on high, Let the earth to heav’n reply, As the Savior comes with light and with love.

Verse 3

What a gift to us is Christ! what a treasure vast! He is more than all the world beside; We may see His glory here, But ’twill more and more appear, While eternal years in Him we abide.

Chorus

Then glory in the highest let us sing! Should aloud the heav’nly chorus; Glory be to God on high, Let the earth to heav’n reply, As the Savior comes with light and with love.
