Ye people of the Living God, Lift up your heads and sing; To magnify his holy name Let every glad harp ring.

O let no harp be silent now, Sing songs of jubilee; The captor’s pow’r is overcome, Praise God, praise God, we’re free!

Why should his people mournful be? Why should their songs be stilled? We’re free! We’re free! O sing it o’er Till every heart is thrilled!
