The City of Gold

Verse 1

In the Bible we read of a city Where the faithful shall never grow old; I have heard that its wonderful roadways Are built of the purest gold.

On the Island of Patmos John saw it, In its grandeur he saw it unfold; And he saw its walls were of jasper, This beautiful city of gold.

O they need not the sun in that city, For the glory of God, we are told, Is the light of that wonderful city, The beautiful city of gold.

I expect to live there in that city While the years of eternity roll; I expect to live there with my Savior In the beautiful city of gold
