The Faithfulness of God

Verse 1

How long the race of David held The promised Jewish throne! But there's nobler cov'nant sealed To David's greater Son.

Verse 2

His seed forever shall possess A throne above the skies; The lowest subject of his grace Shall to that glory rise.

Verse 3

His cov'nant stands forever fast; His promises are strong; Firm as the heav'ns his throne shall last, His seed endure as long.

Verse 4

Lord God of hosts, your wondrous ways Are sung by saints above, And saints on Earth their honors raise To your unchanging love.
