There is a fountain opened wide, Whence streams of living waters flow; ’Twas opened when Immanuel died, To cleanse from sin and save from woe.

The dwellers of Jerusalem, The heirs of David’s royal line; May to this sacred fountain come, And wash away each guilty stain.
