The Light Brightly Beamed

Ada Blenkhorn • English

Primary Scripture: 1 Peter 2:9

Verse 1

When danger and sorrow encompassed my soul, And dark seemed my path as the night, I cried to the Lord and He parted the clouds And let in His glorious light.

Chorus

The light brightly beamed on my soul, The light brightly beamed on my soul, Since Jesus, my Saviour, dispelled the dark clouds, The light brightly beams on my soul.

Verse 2

Now bright as the noontide the pathway appears, The clouds have all vanished away; I walk in the light of my Lord’s loving smile, And dwell in His beautiful day.

Chorus

The light brightly beamed on my soul, The light brightly beamed on my soul, Since Jesus, my Saviour, dispelled the dark clouds, The light brightly beams on my soul.

Verse 3

To Jesus, who rescued my soul from despair, My life’s sweetest service I bring; And now in my heart with rejoicing and song, I crown Him my Saviour and King.

Chorus

The light brightly beamed on my soul, The light brightly beamed on my soul, Since Jesus, my Saviour, dispelled the dark clouds, The light brightly beams on my soul.

Verse 4

The Saviour is calling—why longer delay? He’s waiting your soul to receive, He’ll pardon and cleanse you, and make you His child, If only on Him you believe.

Chorus

The light brightly beamed on my soul, The light brightly beamed on my soul, Since Jesus, my Saviour, dispelled the dark clouds, The light brightly beams on my soul.
