The perfections and providence of God; or, general providence and special grace

Isaac Watts (1719) • English

Primary Scripture: Psalm 30:5-9

Verse 1

High in the heavens, eternal God, your goodness in full glory shines: your truth shall break through every cloud that veils and darkens your designs.

Verse 2

Forever firm your justice stands, as mountains their foundations keep; wise are the wonders of your hands; your judgments are a mighty deep.

Verse 3

From the provisions of your house we shall be fed with sweet repast; there mercy like a river flows and brings salvation to our taste.

Verse 4

Life, like a fountain, rich and free, springs from the presence of the Lord, and in your light our souls shall see the glories promised in your word.
