Primary Scripture: Exodus 20:3-17
Verse 1
Thou shalt not have,--so says the Lord,-- Before me any other God.
Verse 2
Thou shalt not make, nor worship one, Save the Almighty God alone.
Verse 3
Thou shalt not take the hallowed name Of God upon thy lips in vain.
Verse 4
Remember always, and obey, To holy keep the Sabbath day.
Verse 5
Honor thy father,--mother, too,--- To them be dutiful and true.
Verse 6
Thou shalt not kill,--but rather love,-- This is God's message from above.
Verse 7
Adultery do not commit, For has not God forbidden it.
Verse 8
Thou shalt not steal, nor make too free With what does not belong to thee.
Verse 9
False witness thou must never bear, The word of God does so declare.
Verse 10
Thou shalt not covet,--'tis a wrong,-- What to thy neighbor may belong.
Chorus
Ten commandments,--all divine,-- ev'ry one of them is mine; Ev'ry one,--the whole, complete,-- Ev'ry one for me to keep.
