I heard the voice of weeping, The cry came o’er the sea, It filled my heart with anguish To know their misery.

Where are the hands to help them? Who’ll volunteer today, To leave their friends and loved ones, And help this curse to stay?

I heard the faithful workers, Responding to the call, The gospel light to carry All round this sin-cursed ball.
