To Heaven our longing eyes we raise

Verse 1

To Heav'n our longing eyes we raise, Where God in matchless glory reigns; He, from His mercy-seat, surveys The creatures whom His power sustains.

Verse 2

O let no anxious doubts alarm; Though throned in Heav'n, His help is nigh: No weariness unnerves his arm, No slumber seals his watchful eye.

Verse 3

He suffers not his flock to stray, But guides them by his gospel's light; Shades them from scorching suns by day, Shields them from perils of the night.

Verse 4

He is our Father and our King, Maker and Sov'reign, Lord of all; Secure beneath His shelt'ring wing, No evil can His saints befall.
