Truth, LORD, and Justice

Verse 1

Truth, LORD, and justice rule my life: O save me from the sons of strife! Be Thou Thy servant's guard and guide, And save me from the sons of pride!

Verse 2

Attendant on Thy Word mine eyes Fail, till Thy saving health arise. Thy tender love, O LORD, display, And lead Thy servant in Thy way.

Verse 3

Thy servant I! Thy light bestows, Grant me Thy Word of truth to know; And lo! the time demands Thy might, For impious men Thy statutes slight.

Verse 4

But I– Thy laws more dear I hold, Than golden ore, or massive gold; Keep the straight path prescribed by God, And loath the crooked ways of fraud.
