When Holy Ghost Shall Come in Power

Verse 1

When Holy Ghost shall come in pow'r, with knowledge deep, profound, you shall be witnesses of me to earth's remotest bound. Proclaim my words unto the world, to humble folk and kings; bear witness of those things you know, the peace my Spirit brings.

Verse 2

Apostles, prophets, martyrs, saints have known him, have confessed that Jesus Christ is King of kings, God's Son, forever blessed. Grant, Lord, we too may see and hear and know you as did they, then send us forth to testify of Christ, the living way.

Verse 3

We would not hide the gospel's light, but sensing our great need, we would be witnesses of Christ in life, in word, in deed. Until your kingdom comes on earth, we pledge our lives anew; till out of Zion light shall shine in witness strong and true.
