When the King Shall Come
Ada Blenkhorn • English
Primary Scripture: Psalm 149:2
Verse 1
When the King shall come to Zion, When He dwells on earth again, With a rod of peace and blessing Shall resound from shore to shore. There shall be no pain nor crying, He shall wipe all tears away; Ev’ry heart shall thrill with gladness In that great and glorious day.
Chorus
Shout aloud the joyful strain, Sing it o’er and o’er again, We shall be with Him forever When the King shall come again.
Verse 2
Ev’ry soul shall bow before Him, And His holy name adore; Happy songs of praise and blessing Shall resound from shore to shore. Then the light of God’s own glory Shall dispel the night of sin, And a day of joy and gladness On the earth shall then begin.
Chorus
Shout aloud the joyful strain, Sing it o’er and o’er again, We shall be with Him forever When the King shall come again.
Verse 3
When the King shall come to Zion, When He reigns upon His throne, He will call us His beloved, He will claim us for His own. We shall dwell within His kingdom, Which for us He doth prepare; We shall reign with Him forever, And His glory we shall share.
Chorus
Shout aloud the joyful strain, Sing it o’er and o’er again, We shall be with Him forever When the King shall come again.
