When Zion's God her sons recalled

Primary Scripture: Psalm 126
Verse 1
When Sion's God her Sons recall'd from long Captivity, It seem'd at first a pleasing Dream of what we wish'd to see:
Verse 2
But soon, in unaccustom'd Mirth, we did our Voice employ, And sung our great Creator's Praise in thankful Hymns of Joy.
Verse 3
Our Heathen Foes repining stood, yet were compell'd to own, That great and wond'rous was the Work our God for us had done.
Verse 4
'Twas great, say then, 'twas wond'rous great, much more should we confess; The Lord has done great Things, whereof we reap the glad Success.
Verse 5
To us bring back the Remnant, Lord, of Isr'el's captive Bands, More welcome than refreshing Show'rs to parch'd and thirsty Lands.
Verse 6
That we, whose Work commenc'd in Tears, may see our Labours thrive, 'Till finish'd with Success, to make our drooping Hearts revive.
Verse 7
Tho' he desponds that sows his Grain, yet doubtless he shall come To bind his full-ear'd Sheaves, and bring the joyful Harvest home.
