1 Cor. 15.20

Almighty God, with whom do live the spirits of those who depart hence in the Lord, and with whom the souls of the faithful, after they are delivered from the burden of the flesh, are in joy and felicity:¹ We give you hearty thanks, for that it has pleased you to deliver this our brother out of the miseries of this sinful world;²

beseeching you, that it may please you, of your gracious goodness, shortly to accomplish the number of your elect, and to hasten your kingdom;³

that we, with all those who are departed in the true faith of your holy Name, may have our perfect consummation and bliss, both in body and soul, in your eternal and everlasting glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.⁴
