Saint John Baptist's Day

Almighty God, by whose providence your servant John Baptist was wonderfully born,¹

and sent to prepare the way of your Son our Saviour, by preaching of repentance;²

Make us so to follow his doctrine and holy life,³

that we may truly repent according to his preaching;⁴

and after his example constantly speak the truth,⁵

boldly rebuke vice,⁶

and patiently suffer for the truth's sake; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.⁷
