Saint Matthew the Apostle

O Almighty God, who by your blessed Son did call Matthew from the receipt of custom to be an Apostle and Evangelist;¹

Grant us grace to forsake all covetous desires, and inordinate love of riches,²

and to follow the same your Son Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.³
