The Collect

Almighty, everliving God, Maker of mankind, who does correct those whom you do love, and chastise every one whom you do receive:¹ We beseech you to have mercy upon this your servant visited with your hand,²

and to grant that he may take his sickness patiently, and recover his bodily health, (if it be your gracious will;) and whensoever his soul shall depart from the body, it may be without spot presented unto you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.³
