The Order of Confirmation Or Laying on of Hands upon Those That Are Baptized and Come to Years of Discretion

Almighty and everliving God, who has vouchsafed to regenerate these your servants by Water and the Holy Ghost, and has given to them forgiveness of all their sins:¹ Strengthen them, we beseech you, O Lord, with the Holy Ghost the Comforter,²

and daily increase in them your manifold gifts of grace;³

the spirit of wisdom and understanding; the spirit of counsel and ghostly strength; the spirit of knowledge and true godliness;⁴

and fill them, O Lord, with the spirit of your holy fear, now and for ever. Amen.⁵
