The Order for Evening Prayer, Daily Throughout the Year
When the wicked man turns away from his wickedness that he has committed, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.1
I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.2
Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.3
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.4
Rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn to the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repents of the evil.5
To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him; neither have we obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in his laws which he set before us.6
O Lord, correct me, but with judgment; not in your anger, lest you bring me to nothing.7
Repent; for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.8
I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before you, and am no more worthy to be called your son.9
Enter not into judgment with your servant, O Lord; for in your sight shall no man living be justified.10
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us; but if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.11
