The second Collect, for Peace

O God, who is the author of peace¹

and lover of concord,²

in knowledge of whom stands our eternal life,³

whose service is perfect freedom;⁴

Defend us your humble servants in all assaults of our enemies;⁵

that we, surely trusting in your defence, may not fear the power of any adversaries,⁶

through the might of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.⁷
