Matthew Henry's commentary explains that the splendid priestly garments described in this chapter were 'shadows of good things to come.' They point to Jesus Christ, our great High Priest, who put on the 'clothes of service' for our redemption, carries his people near his heart, and consecrated his entire work to the Father.
