Commentators unanimously interpret the sacrifices in this vision as pointing forward to Jesus Christ. They explain that while Ezekiel's vision describes animal sacrifices, these are symbolic. As Matthew Henry notes, Christians no longer offer atoning sacrifices because 'by one offering Christ has perfected for ever those that are sanctified' (Hebrews 10:14). The vision foreshadows Christ as the ultimate victim and priest.
