`The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,` says Yahweh of Hosts; `and in this place will I give peace,` says Yahweh of Hosts."

The Glory Was a Person

Commentators are unanimous: the 'greater glory' of the second temple was not its architecture or wealth, which was inferior to Solomon's. The glory was the personal presence of Jesus Christ. God Himself, in human flesh, walked and taught in this temple, a more direct and glorious revelation than the veiled Shekinah cloud that filled the first temple.
