Identifying the Leviathan
Scholars extensively debate the identity of "Leviathan." While some suggest a whale or mythical beast, most commentators, like Albert Barnes, argue convincingly that it is the crocodile. This powerful reptile of the Nile fits the description, was known in the region, and is often associated with "Behemoth" (the hippopotamus) from the previous chapter, making it a fitting example of God's untamable creation.
