Not an End to Intercession

Commentators unanimously clarify that Jesus is not ending His role as intercessor, which is affirmed elsewhere in Scripture (Heb. 7:25, 1 John 2:1). Instead, He is highlighting a new reality: believers will have such direct access to the Father that they won't need to think of Jesus as a go-between who must persuade a reluctant God. The Father Himself will be joyfully accessible to them.
