Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight. Your faith has healed you."

Verse Takeaways

Faith is the Hand, Not the Healer

Commentators explain that when Jesus says, "Your faith has saved you," He isn't giving credit to faith as the source of power. Rather, Christ is the Healer, and faith is the hand that reaches out to receive His healing. As one scholar puts it, Christ delights to put the crown on faith's head, because faith always puts the crown back on Christ's head. Faith is the means, but Jesus is the author of salvation.
