A Desperate, Humble Approach
Commentators highlight the leper's profound humility, noting he knelt before Jesus in an act of worship. However, his approach was also incredibly bold. As the Expositor's Bible Commentary points out, by coming near to Jesus, the leper was breaking the Mosaic law which demanded he keep his distance. His desperation drove him to defy social and religious rules to get to the only one he believed could heal him.
