Matthew Henry uses the long list of travels, including the stop at Tahath, to illustrate the Christian life. We are on a journey, often feeling like we are wandering in a desert. Yet, even when the path seems indirect or backward, we are always under God's direction. As Henry notes, 'God led them about, yet he led them the right way.' Our lives, too, are a guided pilgrimage.
