Commentators explain that Satan's role as 'the accuser' was to highlight humanity's sins before God. However, Christ's death and resurrection satisfied God's justice, rendering Satan's accusations legally invalid. As several scholars note, with Christ as our advocate, the accuser has no case against God's people (Romans 8:33–34). This heavenly declaration is the foundation of our assurance.
