"And he humbled not himself before Jehovah, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but this same Amon trespassed more and more." — 2 Chronicles 33:23 (ASV)

And humbled not himself ... more and more. —This verse is added by the chronicler.

But Amon trespassed more and more. —Literally, for he, Amon, multiplied trespass.
