"The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, Jehovah hath made even both of them." — Proverbs 20:12 (ASV)

The Lord hath made even both of them. And therefore, they are to be used as He would have them. (Compare our Lord’s constant warning, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.) The proverb may also remind us of the admonition in Proverbs 15:3, and Psalms 94:9, to remember God’s constant watchfulness over us.
