SCRIPTURE

"It is the spirit that giveth life; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I have spoken unto you are spirit, are are life." — John 6:63 (ASV)

It is the Spirit that quickens; the flesh profits nothing:

That is to say, it is the meaning of Christ's words that gives life, not the words themselves; and if we stumble at the letter, and begin to ask, "How can we eat the flesh of Christ?" taking that expression literally, it will kill us. We need to get into the spirit of what He says, the true spiritual meaning of it, for that is where the life lies.

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Do not look at them as dead words; regard them as full of life, and understand them in their living spiritual sense.

The flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

They are not carnal; they are not coarse; they have in them an inner sense which is full of life and spirit.

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

"You are not to take them as if they were flesh, and understand them carnally. They only embody. My words only embody a living soul of meaning, which is for you to receive if you are indeed made alive, and then it will make you alive, and you will understand me, and live in me."
