SCRIPTURE

"Father, I desire that they also whom thou hast given me be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, the world knew thee not, but I knew thee; and these knew that thou didst send me; and I made known unto them thy name, and will make it known; that the love wherewith thou lovedst me may be in them, and I in them." — John 17:24-26 (ASV)

Christ, as one with the Father, claimed on behalf of all who had been given to him and who would in due time believe on him, that they should be brought to heaven; and that there the whole company of the redeemed might behold his glory as their beloved Friend and Brother, and in this find happiness.

He had declared, and would continue to declare, the name or character of God by his doctrine and his Spirit, so that, being one with him, the love of the Father for him might abide with them also. Thus, being joined to Him by one Spirit, they might be filled with all the fullness of God and enjoy a blessedness of which we can form no adequate idea in our present state.
